Progressive Counting Course

$675.00

This course offers:

  • A trauma-focused phase model and interventions for every step of the way in treatment from “hello” to “congratulations! You’ve completed therapy!”
  • Explores the latest information and research on trauma and neurobiology and how to explain trauma to clients.
  • Learn and practice how to take a trauma / loss list during the evaluation phase and present a case formulation.
  • Learn and practice several relaxation and resource tools to help clients prepare for their work including a secure attachment exercise and Map Out A Problem / Choices Have Consequences.
  • We will learn and practice the Progressive Counting protocol along with variations such as how to treat events that happen over and over again (clusters), how to determine and what to do if a client gets “stuck” (level of disturbance isn’t going down) and preparing clients for future situations.
  • We will discuss how PC works (mechanisms of effect such as Working Memory Theory).
  • A look at specialty populations such as kids and teens and different challenges such as dissociation.
  • We will also learn the “Flash Technique* for rapid reduction in client disturbances before a memory is even addressed.

This course is very hands on. Clinicians will practice every intervention with each other working on their own stuff. This allows a personal experience with interventions as well as practice as a therapist. There are weeks in between segments to allow time for participants to practice the interventions with their clients.  We will learn interventions via interactive lecture, handouts and scripts, client videos, practice with peers, and case consultation
